It forms part of quite a dramatic wedge that includes Rhos Dirion and Hay Bluff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed aligncenter is-type-photo is-provider-flickr wp-block-embed-flickr\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/uponnothing\/51420832859\/in\/dateposted-public\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/51420832859_b146683e99.jpg\" alt=\"The Black Mountains\" width=\"500\" height=\"334\" \/><\/a>\n<\/div><figcaption>View North from the dip. | Tamron Adaptall SP 24-48 @ 24mm, f11.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The route I took takes you into a dip between Rhos Dirion and Twmpa, from here there are good views North and good views towards Twmpa and back to Rhos Dirion. There are some rocks jutting out in places on the ascent to Twmpa which make for good photos and possibly places to sit \/ stand and be photographed if you have company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed aligncenter is-type-photo is-provider-flickr wp-block-embed-flickr\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/uponnothing\/51420070456\/in\/dateposted-public\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/51420070456_fa2059125d.jpg\" alt=\"The Black Mountains\" width=\"500\" height=\"334\" \/><\/a>\n<\/div><figcaption>Looking East on the ascent to Twmpa. |  Tamron Adaptall SP 24-48 @ 24mm, f11.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>At this point in the walk I started to see more walkers, due to how close this mountain is to Gospel Pass which has road access and parking. There also seemed to be parking places North of here as well, with other routes up to this ridgeway that would provide great views of these mountains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed aligncenter is-type-photo is-provider-flickr wp-block-embed-flickr\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/uponnothing\/51420064811\/in\/dateposted-public\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/51420064811_0ea1ba2e01.jpg\" alt=\"Rhos Dirion\" width=\"500\" height=\"214\" \/><\/a>\n<\/div><figcaption>Views West towards Rhos Dirion. |  Tamron Adaptall SP 24-48 @ 24mm, f11. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The summit is marked by a few cairns, very neatly constructed by some visitors to this mountain. There are good natural grass seats and shelter points from wind and rain erosion, so it is a great place to sit for a drink or a bite to eat.
