I walked this as part of the route above, taking in Bryn Du after first summiting Drygarn Fawr. The walk from Drygarn Fawr to Bryn Du is tough as there are no paths and the ground is constantly dropping into bogs . When you’re not dealing with bogs it is long, tufty, lumpy grass that wants to turn your ankles one step whilst you’re sinking up to your thighs in it the next.

Bryn Du from the approach. | Tamron Adaptall SP 24-48 @ 24mm, f11.

This is a hill I will never return to, which is kind of why I walked it, given that the chances of me being back in this area again are fairly remote (unless I ever get close to completing all of the hills in Wales and I need to tick off others in this area).

Looking back at Drygarn Fawr. | Tamron Adaptall SP 24-48 @ 24mm, f11.

The hill is nice enough, but I think that there is so much to see and do in this area that people just don’t need to walk it.
