You can park in a layby or park at the country park like we did. Spaces in the car park we used are quite limited and the car park was busy even on a blustery and wet day like we did this mountain.

There are clearly marked footpaths taking you up a tarmac track to begin with, then through some forest – on a good gravel track – and then you can break left in a few different places to the many paths walking around the old mine workings.

The mine workings were quite popular with plenty of walkers exploring the area, no one continued up to the summit when we walked so we had most of the walk to ourselves.

The path is wet in places and has some small scrambles alongside a wall, but stiles are in place and if you follow those you’ll hit a path to the summit – although it is faint in places. The highest point is marked by a large cairn, views are great and you can see the sea.
