Mountain rank by height: 176 out of 188
Height: 2,021ft | 616m
Region: Brecon Beacons
Grid ref: SN740179

This summit is a short and quick climb from multiple car parks available on the nearby A4069. From the car park I used it was only just over 500ft of elevation to the summit, so a great option if you’ve got kids and want to get them up their first official mountain. The tracks are easy to follow and make for easy walking.

The Road to the Mountains
The road up to the car park is a nice drive and gets you very close to Garreg Lwyd. Tamron SP 24-48 @ 48mm, f11.

The top is covered in rocks and a structure has been constructed out of them alongside the trig point.

Garreg Lwyd
I summited in mist and clouds, but it cleared up for my return route. Tamron Adaptall SP 24-48 @ 24mm, f8.

The views from the top – in good weather – are really impressive in every direction. Like most Brecon Beacon summits you can always see Pen y Fan in the distance and many other mountains in the range.
